Axial Grip Type Couplings

High quality connections for the Marine Industry

Teekay Couplings manufacture axial grip type couplings in two different configurations: Axilock-S and Axilock-FP. Axial couplings contain mechanical pipe gripping rings which prevent pipe pull-out with pressure and come with a range of type approval certificates including Lloyds Register, DNV, BV, ABS and others. For individual certificate details, please contact us.

So, what is the difference between Axilock-S and Axilock-FP?

Axilock-S is the standard coupling used for areas of a ship where fire protection properties are not required. Axilock-FP is a fire protected coupling, that meets the ISO19921 / 19922 fire testing requirements and is referred to as an 'approved fire resistant type' by approval authorities. The Axilock-FP is recognised globally within commercial and naval shipbuilding markets.

Axial grip couplings can be used on many different pipe ,materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and copper nickel. Teekay axial grip couplings are also approved for use on GRE pipe systems.

Different multiple seal gasket options are available for Teekay axial grip couplings, including EPDM, NBR, Silicone, HNBR and Viton. The metallic casing can be specified in different grades of stainless steel, including 316L grade. Pressure ratings from 0 bar to 16 bar are all available.

Teekay axial grip couplings all incorporate protection against galvanic corrosion by means of an end seal. The rubber seal helps to dampen vibration and reduce noise signature associated with the pipeline.
